ICX7250-48P-2X10G Dense PoE+ Access Bundle

ICX7250-48P-2X10G provides 48 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ access ports and the two-port 10G uplink/stacking license tier. Its 740 W PoE capacity supports a denser edge than ICX7250-24P-2X10G, but still requires a measured allocation and failure-state plan.

Design the 740 W budget by priority

Group powered devices into must-run and shed-first classes. Record negotiated LLDP power and startup draw for each port, then test the critical population under the installed system-power arrangement. A 48-port chassis can exhaust aggregate power before all endpoints reach their individual maximums.

Licensed uplink split

The exact bundle enables two SFP+ ports at 1 or 10 GbE and leaves six at 1 GbE. It does not establish eight active 10G ports. Check the license display, preserve proof of entitlement and quote the separate 8X10G upgrade only when the topology needs more high-speed links.

Oversubscription and stack role

Forty-eight active access ports can make a single 10G uplink a bottleneck. Model expected traffic, reserve the second licensed port for redundant uplink or stack duty, and test reconvergence. Capture optic/cable part numbers and peer configuration.

Acceptance evidence

Test all 48 copper links, a representative full-class PoE set, reboot and power-recovery behavior, the reported 740 W budget, two 10G-enabled SFP+ ports and six 1G ports. Retain serial, license, software, configuration backup and cooling/system-power status.
