SRX5800X-B10-DC Direct-Current Bundle Identity

SRX5800X-B10-DC identifies the DC-powered version of the Juniper SRX5800X B10 bundle. The public SRX5800 hardware documentation establishes the DC power architecture, but it does not publish a complete component-level B10 bundle bill of materials. Require the supplier's exact chassis, processing, interface and PEM part-number list before purchase and compare every received item with that list.

DC feed design

Juniper documents a nominal -48V DC system with an operating input range of -40V to -72V for the standard DC power supply. Standard-capacity supplies can deliver up to 2800W each. Power demand still depends on the installed cards and chassis configuration, so calculate the required supply count and feed capacity from the actual component inventory rather than the bundle name alone.

A/B power-domain mapping

For a four-supply standard DC installation, Juniper maps PEM0 and PEM1 to feed A and PEM2 and PEM3 to feed B. Each standard DC supply requires a dedicated 80A circuit breaker in the maximum configuration described by Juniper. The facility design must confirm breaker rating, conductor size, polarity, grounding, feed independence and local electrical requirements for the exact installed PEMs.

Installation boundary

Juniper supplies cable lugs with the standard DC power supplies, while the DC power cables are customer-provided. Connection must be completed by a licensed electrician. Do not assume the cable, breaker or lug requirements of another PEM generation apply until the label and hardware revision are verified.

Do not mix power types

An SRX5800 chassis can use AC or DC supplies, but Juniper prohibits mixing AC and DC supplies in one chassis. The first detected type becomes the permitted type and an incompatible supply is disabled with an alarm. Compare SRX5800X-B10-AC only when the site requires an AC design; it is not an interchangeable live-chassis add-on.

Receiving and commissioning

Record the bundle PID, serials and the complete internal-card and PEM inventory. Verify DC input labels, grounding, A/B feed isolation, calculated power-zone capacity, alarm state, fan operation and interface-module recognition. The published site envelope includes 0-40C operation and 5-90% noncondensing humidity; confirm rack airflow and thermal capacity for the delivered configuration.
