EX-SFP-GE80KCW1510 1510nm CWDM Channel Optic

EX-SFP-GE80KCW1510 is a wavelength-specific Juniper Gigabit Ethernet CWDM transceiver. It transmits on the 1510nm channel, uses a duplex LC connection over 9/125µm single-mode fiber and carries an 80km reach classification. Juniper identifies the corresponding hardware as part number 740-032293.

The mux port is part of the product decision

A working design must place this optic on the 1510nm port of the passive CWDM mux/demux at each intended endpoint. EX-SFP-GE80KCW1470 occupies a different channel and cannot be substituted without revising the wavelength plan. Preserve the channel schedule, endpoint assignment and patch-panel path with the BOM.

Budget every passive element

Juniper lists 0 to 5dBm launch power, -32dBm minimum receiver sensitivity and -8dBm maximum receiver input for the 1510nm module. The 80km label is not a guarantee: subtract fiber loss at 1510nm, connector and splice loss, mux/demux insertion loss, add/drop filters and engineering reserve before approving the circuit.

Different from ordinary LH

EX-SFP-1GE-LH is a 70km 1550nm point-to-point optic with a different receiver envelope and no assigned CWDM channel. Both are 1GbE SFPs, but cage fit and nominal reach do not make them interchangeable. Use the CWDM PID only when the optical architecture explicitly calls for 1510nm.

Validate the exact host and Junos release through Juniper HCT. At commissioning, capture PID, part number, serial, wavelength label, mux port, duplex fiber polarity and DOM readings at both ends. Compare measured power with the engineered budget and retain alarm/error counters after thermal stabilization.
