Outdoor PoE access on a DC plant

ACX500-O-POE-DC is the DC-powered outdoor ACX500 variant with PoE support. It is physically larger and heavier than the non-PoE ACX500-O-DC, so the mounting and power design must use the PoE model's own dimensions rather than the standard outdoor enclosure values.

PoE load and DC input planning

Juniper specifies 55 W router power plus up to 80 W of PoE power for this model. Build an endpoint power schedule, include startup demand and reserve, and confirm whether +24 V, -48 V or -60 V nominal DC matches the site. PoE capacity must be assessed separately from the count of three copper interfaces.

Outdoor installation boundary

The IP65-compliant enclosure supports pole or wall mounting, but cable glands, grounding, surge protection and mounting hardware still require a site-specific bill of materials. Confirm the 10 x 16 x 4.7 inch enclosure and 13.66 lb maximum weight against the structure.

Receiving checks

Verify the full ACX500-O-POE-DC label, DC terminals and PoE capability. Test each powered endpoint class, copper link and selected SFP under expected load, and record the Junos release and optical module PIDs before field installation.
