AC-powered outdoor access with PoE

ACX500-O-POE-AC combines an IP65 outdoor chassis, AC input and PoE support. The precise suffix matters: ACX500-O-AC has the same outdoor network-interface pattern but does not provide PoE and uses a smaller enclosure.

Facility power and endpoint budget

Juniper lists 90 to 240 V AC and 55 W router consumption plus up to 80 W for PoE. Specify the regional cord and dedicated feed, then calculate connected endpoint demand rather than treating the 80 W allowance as available to every copper port simultaneously.

Mechanical and weather review

Plan around the PoE enclosure dimensions of 10 x 16 x 4.7 inches and 14.33 lb maximum weight. IP65 compliance does not replace correct gland sealing, earth bonding, surge protection, drip-loop and structural checks at the pole or wall.

Commissioning

Match ACX500-O-POE-AC on the chassis and verify AC power, grounding and PoE behavior under representative load. Test the three copper and three SFP interfaces used by the design, then document optics, software and field cabling.
