XH16800-16 Large Modular Core Chassis

XH16800-16 is the 16-service-slot member of Huawei's CloudEngine XH16800 modular core family. Huawei's current data sheet lists 714/1548 Tbit/s switching capacity and 921,600 Mpps forwarding rate for this platform, but these are platform specifications rather than proof that a bare chassis contains the cards needed to reach them.

Sixteen-slot architecture

Build the bill of materials around 16 service slots, nine switch-fabric module slots and the required MPU, SFU and LPU population. Map every interface-card slot to an approved port-speed and media requirement, and preserve the Huawei component-to-software compatibility evidence for the selected release.

Space and handling

Huawei lists the fully configured chassis at approximately 32.3U high, 483 mm wide and 1144 mm deep, with a full-configuration weight of about 262.8 kg. Validate rack depth, floor loading, service clearances, lifting method, front-to-back airflow and cable routing before delivery.

Power design

The official power description supports AC and high-voltage DC arrangements and describes dual-source redundancy through PEMs. Size power modules from the actual card population and redundancy target; Huawei lists a 60,000 W maximum power-supply envelope, not a normal operating draw or an included module count.

Acceptance boundary

Record the XH16800-16 chassis and assembly part number, MPU/SFU/LPU models, populated slots, fan trays, power modules, PEM connections, licenses and supported software. A chassis-only shipment is not a functioning 16-slot core switch until those line items are installed and validated.
