S1720-52GWR-PWR-4P scales powered Gigabit access to 48 copper downlinks with four 1000BASE-X optical uplinks. It is the GE-uplink member of the 52-port PWR family.

Capacity and concentration

Huawei lists 336 Gbit/s switching capacity and 78 Mpps forwarding for the 52-port GWR-P series. Model traffic concentration across four GE uplinks carefully when many powered devices produce sustained video or wireless traffic.

Power-domain planning

Forty-eight PoE-capable ports do not prove that every port can deliver maximum class power concurrently. Verify the exact power hardware and budget, separate critical loads where needed and preserve headroom for startup surges and future endpoints.

GE optical handoff

Specify compatible 1000BASE-X optics and document redundant path behavior. These are not 10GE interfaces; select the PWR-4X variant when the distribution layer requires four 10G optical links.
