High-density S1720GWR-E powered access

S1720-52GWR-PWR-4P-E is Huawei part number 98010750. It provides forty-eight 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ access ports and four 1000BASE-X uplinks for a dense Gigabit edge where GE aggregation is sufficient.

Power and thermal limits

Huawei specifies a 370 W built-in PoE budget, enough for full 802.3af power on 24 ports or full 802.3at power on 12 ports. The switch uses two built-in fans with left-to-right airflow. Rack planning must therefore preserve side airflow and calculate endpoint demand instead of assuming maximum PoE on all 48 ports.

GE uplink scope

The four uplinks are 1000BASE-X, not 10GE SFP+. Huawei lists supported GE optical, CWDM, DWDM and copper transceiver categories, subject to the model's optical-module guidance. Validate media, wavelength, reach and software support against the receiving network.

-E management identity

Huawei states that S1720GWR-E supports command-line operation after Telnet or STelnet is enabled through Web management. Because the non-E and -E products share the same hardware structure, confirm both exact model and part number during procurement; do not infer the management variant from the faceplate layout alone.
