S1720-28GWR-PWR-4X PoE Access with 10GE Aggregation

S1720-28GWR-PWR-4X provides 24 powered 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports and four 10GBASE-X optical uplinks. The 4X suffix separates it from the PWR-4P model, whose optical interfaces are Gigabit Ethernet.

Higher uplink envelope

Huawei publishes 168 Gbit/s switching capacity and 96 Mpps forwarding for the 28-port GWR-X family. Use the 10GE uplinks when powered edge traffic, cameras or wireless access points need greater aggregation headroom.

Power engineering

Do not infer a fixed wattage from the model name. Verify the installed power configuration, calculate endpoint startup and steady-state demand, reserve operational margin and test representative fault and restart conditions.

10GE acceptance

Match optics or direct-attach media to software, wavelength, connector and reach. Test each 10GE link at target speed and preserve a configuration backup with the PoE and loop-protection policy.

Exact-suffix control

Confirm PWR-4X on the chassis and order record. A 4P unit has a materially different uplink speed, while a non-PWR unit does not satisfy endpoint power requirements.
