Specify the chassis and its operating parts separately

CE6870-48S6CQ-EI-A is a CloudEngine data center switch. Huawei lists the unsuffixed base order without power modules or fans. The -F and -B orders instead list two AC power modules and two fan boxes, with port-side exhaust and intake respectively.

Release a complete bill of materials

Before issuing a purchase order, identify whether the quotation covers the base chassis or a configured order. Ask for the exact module codes and airflow direction, then reconcile them with the rack cooling design. A similar product name is not evidence that the necessary operating parts are included.

Plan access and uplinks independently

The port layout separates 48 access connections at 10GE from six 100GE uplinks. Draw the intended links and check peer interfaces, optics and cable compatibility for each connection. Reserve interfaces for redundancy explicitly instead of treating every advertised port as spare server capacity.

Check software against the deployment

Record the running software and purchased licenses before migrating a configuration. Use the manufacturer documentation for the required features and selected release; do not infer entitlement from the chassis name. Keep a tested recovery configuration until the replacement network passes acceptance.
