FAP-231F-Y migration inventory

FAP-231F-Y is the Y regulatory-domain orderable form of the FortiAP-231F. Its suffix is part of the asset's deployment eligibility and must survive controller migration, warehouse transfer and replacement workflows.

Pre-migration snapshot

Export the serial, Y suffix, legal site country, configured country, controller association, firmware, channel use, PoE mode, USB dependency and mounting location. Split mixed-suffix estates into separate migration waves.

Representative pilot

Move one Y-domain unit first. Confirm controller authorization, SSID behavior, country configuration, radio service and scanning state before expanding the wave. A successful network join does not by itself prove the unit is approved for the destination country.

Wi-Fi 6 capacity reference

The indoor 231F supports 802.11ax functions including OFDMA and target wake time. Its service radios are 2x2 and the platform also includes a frequency-scanning radio and BLE. Published maximum consumption is 17 W, so the migration design should retain an appropriate PoE budget.

Asset handover

After migration, preserve the destination controller, firmware outcome, country and channel validation, serial, suffix, switch port and rollback decision. Do not merge Y-domain spares into a generic 231F pool.
