N3024EF-ON Fiber Access Configuration

N3024EF-ON is the fiber-oriented member of the Dell N3000 family. Its front panel provides 24 ports for 1000-SX or 1000-LX SFP optics, two SFP+ uplinks and two Gigabit combo ports. Buyers should not substitute the copper-access N3024 or PoE N3024P without checking the cabling design.

Capacity and Expansion

Dell lists a 212 Gbps full-duplex switching fabric and 158 Mpps forwarding rate. The chassis includes 2 GB memory, 1 GB flash and a rear hot-swap module bay. It supports redundant hot-swappable power supplies; the base configuration includes one 200 W AC supply.

Procurement Checks

SFP and SFP+ optics are separate choices and must match fiber type, distance and the equipment at the far end. Before ordering, confirm the rear expansion module, second power supply, stacking cables, rack accessories and the installed software release.

• Confirm 24 SFP access ports rather than copper RJ-45 access ports.
• Select 1G and 10G optics for the required fiber plant.
• Verify whether redundant power and a rear expansion module are required.
• Record the existing stack and firmware requirements for replacement work.
