WS-C4500X-24X-ES is the 24-port 10GE Enterprise Services, front-to-back airflow member of the Catalyst 4500-X family. Cisco's ordering table explicitly describes the base PID as shipping without a power supply. The 24 ports accept supported SFP or SFP+ optics for 1GE or 10GE operation; this exact 24X model should not be described as a 16-port chassis plus an eight-port module.

Cisco specifies up to 800 Gbps switching capacity and 250 Mpps throughput for the 4500-X platform.
