Exact chassis identity

N3K-C3064PQ-10GX is Cisco’s Nexus 3064-X fixed switch with 48 SFP+ ports and four QSFP+ ports in a 1RU chassis. The exact -10GX PID denotes the enhanced-scale, low-latency 3064-X order and must not be substituted with the copper 3064-T or 32-port 3064-32T variants.

Port modes and capacity

Each SFP+ port supports 1 or 10 Gigabit Ethernet; Cisco also describes 100-Mbps operation for this platform. Each QSFP+ port supports native 40 Gigabit Ethernet or four 10 Gigabit Ethernet lanes. Cisco specifies 1.28 Tbps switching capacity and 950 million packets per second forwarding.

Hardware boundary

The chassis uses two redundant power supplies, one fan tray with redundant fans, and an I/O module for management, console and USB flash-memory access. Optics, breakout cables, airflow direction, power-supply type and software licenses are separate configuration checks and are not implied by the base PID.

Lifecycle and migration

Cisco gives April 28, 2017 as end of sale and April 30, 2022 as the last date of support for the Nexus 3064-X family. The lifecycle notice lists both N3K-C31108PC-V and N3K-C3172PQ-XL replacement paths for this PID; a migration decision still requires port, optics, airflow, software and feature validation.
