N3K-C31108PC-V is the Cisco Nexus 31108PC-V, a 1RU switch with forty-eight SFP+ access ports for 1/10G connectivity and six QSFP28 ports. PC identifies the optical access configuration; the separate TC model uses copper 10GBASE-T interfaces.

Some uplink mode changes require a restart

The six QSFP28 ports support 40G or 100G operation, and the data sheet also lists four-lane 10G connectivity. For the right-most QSFP ports, Cisco distinguishes 100/40G mode from 40G/four-lane-10G mode and states that changing the mode requires a reboot. Include that disruption in the maintenance plan rather than assuming every cabling change is live.

Validate the offered optics and rack airflow

Specify the required access speed, upstream speed and supported cable or transceiver on the quotation. The presence of SFP+ or QSFP28 cages is not evidence that modules are supplied. Confirm the fan and power-supply airflow against the rack layout and check the actual software release and feature entitlement before adopting the intended configuration.

Use the bare chassis lifecycle rather than a Cisco ONE bundle date

Cisco lists August 31, 2022 as end of sale and August 31, 2027 as the last applicable support date for this hardware, subject to entitlement. Its migration row names N9K-C93180YC-FX3. C1-prefixed bundles are separate ordering identities; their notices should not replace the lifecycle evidence for this PID.
