Exact switch identity

N3K-C3048TP-1GE is Cisco’s Nexus 3048 fixed Top-of-Rack switch. Its 1RU chassis combines 48 copper RJ-45 access ports operating at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps with four SFP+ uplink ports operating at 1 or 10 Gbps.

Capacity and chassis

Cisco specifies 176 Gbps switching capacity and a forwarding rate of 132 million packets per second. The platform includes two redundant power supplies, one fan tray with redundant fans, and an I/O module for management, console and USB flash-memory access.

Configuration boundary

The family supports forward or reversed airflow and AC or DC power inputs, but this base PID does not prove the installed airflow or power-supply variant. Optics, licenses and cables are also separate procurement items unless confirmed by the actual configuration.

Lifecycle and migration

Cisco lists August 3, 2020 as end of sale and August 31, 2025 as last date of support. The official notice names N9K-C92348GC-X as the migration path; validate copper speeds, uplinks, optics, software and airflow before replacement.
