C9K-PWR-C5-BLANK C5 Bay Filler

C9K-PWR-C5-BLANK is Cisco's C5-form blank cover for an unused Catalyst 9500 power-supply bay. It is a mechanical airflow component, not a spare PSU, power converter or license.

Identify the target bay

Photograph the switch label, PSU bay and installed power module PID before ordering. Match the C5 identifier to the physical slot and model-specific service documentation; C9K-PWR-C4-BLANK, PWR-C4-BLANK and the Catalyst 9500X PWR-C6-BLANK are separate orderable items.

Why the panel matters

An empty opening changes pressure and cooling through the chassis. Cisco instructs operators to leave the appropriate cover installed whenever only one of the two power slots is populated. The cover also reduces the chance of debris entering the bay.

Installation control

Confirm the remaining PSU is healthy and sufficient for the approved operating state. Use ESD precautions, avoid touching internal connectors and seat the filler until its retention mechanism is secure. Escalate any bent bay edge or loose cover rather than forcing it.

Post-installation record

Save the exact C5 PID, chassis serial, bay number and photographs. Check system and environmental status after fitting. A successful mechanical fit does not certify a different Catalyst 9500 model unless Cisco documentation supports that combination.
