ASA5545-CU-2AC-K9 is Cisco's ASA 5545-X Firewall Edition order with 14 copper Gigabit Ethernet data ports, one copper Gigabit Ethernet management port and 1+1 AC power supplies. Cisco's order table also lists 3DES/AES, Active/Active high availability, two security contexts, 2,500 IPsec VPN peers and two SSL VPN peers.

CU-2AC changes the received hardware

The exact suffix matters: the base ASA5545-K9 order lists eight data ports and one AC supply, whereas this CU-2AC order raises the documented copper data-port count to 14 and includes the second AC supply. Confirm both PSUs and all fourteen data interfaces during receiving.

No security subscription is implied

This is a Firewall Edition hardware PID. A FirePOWER, IPS, AVC, web-security, AnyConnect or support entitlement must appear as a separate valid line item; none should be inferred from the chassis name or an installed configuration.

Legacy lifecycle requires a migration owner

Cisco's hardware notice gives September 4, 2020 as end of sale and September 30, 2025 as the last date of support for the affected ASA 5525-X, 5545-X and 5555-X hardware. A 2026 deployment therefore needs accepted spare-parts risk, an offline configuration backup and a dated replacement plan.

Capacity boundary versus ASA5555-X

ASA5555-CU-2AC-K9 has the same 14-data-port and dual-AC physical description but a higher Cisco order-table IPsec VPN limit. Do not select between them by interface count alone; use measured sessions, connection rate, encrypted traffic and enabled inspection.

Receiving and commissioning gate

Match the chassis label and serial to ASA5545-CU-2AC-K9, inventory both power supplies, test every copper data and management interface, record the ASA release and encryption license, and verify failover configuration. Preserve a clean configuration export before any reuse.
