ASA5515-SSD120-K9 SSD Appliance Identity

ASA5515-SSD120-K9 is Cisco's ASA 5515-X order with software, six Gigabit Ethernet data ports, one Gigabit Ethernet management port, one AC supply, 3DES/AES and a 120GB SSD. The SSD is a physical component of this exact PID.

The SSD does not prove an active service

Cisco documents the SSD as storage used by supported services-module scenarios. Its presence does not establish that IPS, AVC, web security, FirePOWER software, signatures or a subscription are licensed and active. Review the installed image, licenses and entitlement records separately.

Different interface and power class

This order is not the CU-2AC bundle. It has six documented data interfaces and a single AC supply, unlike the fourteen-port dual-AC ASA5545-CU-2AC-K9 and ASA5555-CU-2AC-K9. Plan cabling and outage exposure from the exact received chassis rather than a neighboring ASA 5500-X description.

SSD health is a purchase checkpoint

Record SSD model, capacity and health, confirm whether the installed software actually uses it, and sanitize any prior tenant data under the buyer's policy. A booting firewall does not demonstrate a healthy services SSD.

ASA5515-X is already obsolete

Cisco ended sale of ASA 5515-X hardware on August 25, 2017 and lists August 31, 2022 as the last date of support. Current use requires explicit acceptance of unsupported hardware and software risk plus a migration target.

Commissioning evidence

Verify ASA5515-SSD120-K9 on the chassis label, serial and inventory output; test six data ports and management; inspect the AC supply and SSD; capture the ASA release, encryption license and configuration; then document the replacement window before production use.
