AIR-CAP2702I-H-K9 CleanAir H-Domain AP

AIR-CAP2702I-H-K9 is the H regulatory-domain Aironet 2702I: a controller-based indoor AP with integrated antennas, 802.11ac, Cisco CleanAir and 3x4 MIMO with three spatial streams. Those capabilities distinguish it from the lower-stream AIR-CAP1702I-H-K9.

Validate H-domain legality before reuse

Cisco lists H-domain ranges of 2.412-2.472 GHz, 5.150-5.350 GHz and 5.745-5.825 GHz in the 2700 documentation. The country, controller regulatory table, channel plan and allowed transmit power must all agree. Hardware sourced from another region should not be relabeled or assumed deployable.

CleanAir and controller are operational dependencies

The AP uses a Cisco WLC for configuration and includes spectrum intelligence through CleanAir. Confirm WLC release support, AP image, regulatory/country settings, certificate status and join behavior in a lab. A radio that powers up but cannot join the production controller is not an acceptable spare.

Integrated antenna and PoE checks

The I model has internal antennas and should be installed according to the intended mounting orientation. Check enclosure and bracket condition, Ethernet link, PoE negotiation, radio operation and CleanAir visibility. External antenna components and a second Ethernet port are not part of this legacy PID.

Lifecycle and migration SKU

Cisco ended sale on 30 April 2019 and ended vulnerability/security support and all support on 30 April 2024. The exact H-domain lifecycle table identifies AIR-AP2802I-H-K9 as the historical migration PID. Current deployments should evaluate a supported Catalyst AP and controller architecture rather than treating that legacy replacement as automatically current.
