AIR-AP1832I-E-K9C Overview

AIR-AP1832I-E-K9C Mobility Express Identity

AIR-AP1832I-E-K9C differs from AIR-AP1832I-E-K9 in its final C suffix. Cisco defines K9C as the configurable Aironet 1832i PID shipped with Mobility Express software by default, while the E identifies the regulatory domain. Country authorization remains the buyer's responsibility.

Primary AP and Radio Scope

Cisco's Mobility Express documentation lists AIR-AP1832I-x-K9C as a supported Primary AP model family. The hardware has internal antennas, simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz 3x3 radios and two spatial streams. Cisco publishes up to 300 Mbps 802.11n PHY rate and up to 867 Mbps 802.11ac Wave 2 PHY rate under the specified channel profiles.

Power and Migration Planning

The AP accepts 44 to 57 VDC and supports 802.3af, 802.3at, Enhanced PoE, local power and compatible injectors. USB is disabled with 802.3af. Cisco's lifecycle notice identifies the Catalyst 9115AX Series as the migration family and lists April 30, 2027 as the hardware last date of support.

  • Confirm that the E regulatory domain is approved for the installation country.
  • Confirm whether the AP will run as the Mobility Express Primary AP or join another controller.
  • Verify software release, supported AP count, mounting bracket and PoE source.
  • Plan migration separately; the Catalyst replacement is not the same regulatory or controller PID.
