AIR-ANT5135DW-R White 5 GHz Articulated Dipole

AIR-ANT5135DW-R is the white-radome Cisco 5 GHz, 3.5 dBi articulated dipole antenna. It uses one RP-TNC plug and is intended for compatible Cisco Aironet access points, bridges and other 5 GHz radios.

Single-band electrical boundary

Cisco specifies operation from 5150 to 5850 MHz, 50-ohm nominal impedance and linear vertical polarization. The H-plane pattern is omnidirectional and the E-plane 3 dB beamwidth is 40 degrees. It must not inherit the 2.4 GHz capability of newer dual-band dipoles.

White radome and articulated base

The AIR-ANT5135DW-R suffix identifies the white version. Its base rotates 360 degrees at the connection and bends from 0 to 90 degrees, with detents at 45 and 90 degrees. Confirm smooth movement without loosening the RP-TNC connector or using the radome as a tightening lever.

Install only on the 5 GHz port

Cisco instructs installers to use the 5 GHz RP-TNC connector, historically marked with a blue dot. Connecting the antenna to a 2.4 GHz port degrades performance and may damage the radio. Hand-tighten the connector, then set the desired orientation; do not force or tool-tighten it.

Lifecycle and migration

Cisco ended sale on 25 August 2017 and ended support on 31 August 2022. The lifecycle table identifies AIR-ANT2524DW-R as the migration product, adding dual-band operation with 2 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 4 dBi at 5 GHz. Compatibility must still be checked against the exact radio and required antenna count.
