Verify the Japanese installation and unit label

Identify the installation country, offered manufacturer part number and regulatory label before accepting a quotation. HPE documents that the available radio channels depend on the configured regulatory domain. The Japan ordering designation does not authorize unrestricted channels, transmit power or use in another market. Ask for the exact unit identification and confirm the regulatory and software requirements for the site.

AP-303 operates a 5 GHz 802.11ac Wave 2 radio and a 2.4 GHz 802.11n radio. HPE specifies up to 867 Mbps for two-stream VHT80 operation and up to 300 Mbps for two-stream HT40 operation. Client capabilities and channel settings matter: a client using a different number of streams or channel width will not necessarily reach those values. They are PHY rates, not guaranteed user throughput.

Budget power for the AP-303 variant

For AP-303, HPE lists IEEE 802.3af PoE or a nominal 12 V DC input. Its documented worst-case consumption is 10.1 W on PoE or 8.8 W on DC. Check the switch's available PoE budget, or the exact DC adapter and regional cord, rather than using the AP-303P power requirements. Power sources are sold separately; the listing does not establish that an adapter is in the supplied package.

Match the wired and management architecture

The AP-303 has a single Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 connection. A second Ethernet port with PoE output belongs to AP-303P, which is a different hardware variant. For management, AP-303 supports ArubaOS with a controller and controller-less Instant operation. Verify the intended software release, existing controller compatibility, registration status and any additional rights before changing an installed network. No management subscription is implied by the AP hardware order.
