Juniper EX-SFP-10GE-LRM, part number 740-021310, is a 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ optical transceiver. Juniper lists 10GBASE-LRM operation, a duplex LC PC/UPC interface, digital optical monitoring and a maximum power consumption of 1W.

Two documented fiber cases

This LRM SKU is not restricted to one fiber family. Juniper's exact-model record lists up to 300m on supported single-mode fiber and up to 220m on supported multimode fiber. The installed fiber type, grade, connectors and end-to-end optical budget must therefore be identified before the module is ordered.

Why the 1310nm identity matters

EX-SFP-10GE-LRM uses a 1310nm optical path. It is a different link design from the 850nm EX-SFP-10GE-SR. Matching LC connectors do not make the two optical standards interchangeable, and both ends of the link must use a compatible optical design.

Host and software verification

Use Juniper's Hardware Compatibility Tool for the exact chassis, interface module and Junos release. An SFP+ cage confirms the mechanical form factor only; platform support must be checked against the model-specific compatibility record.

Receiving and acceptance

Verify the labels EX-SFP-10GE-LRM and 740-021310, keep the optical faces capped until installation, and inspect and clean both LC ends. After link-up, record DOM transmit power, receive power and alarms so the commissioned optical path has a traceable baseline.
