ACX7100-48L-DC-AO is the front-to-back airflow model

Juniper ACX7100-48L-DC-AO is the DC-powered ACX7100-48L variant with Air-Out cooling. Cool air enters at the front port panel, travels toward the rear fan and power modules, and exits at the FRU side. The AO suffix is therefore a physical rack-airflow requirement, not a cosmetic order-code difference.

Metro aggregation port profile

The fixed chassis supplies 48 SFP56 ports for 10/25/50GbE and six QSFP56-DD ports supporting 40/100/400GbE. Port 47 is limited to 10 or 25GbE. The platform uses a 4.8 Tbps forwarding ASIC and a six-core, 64GB control plane with dual 100GB SSD storage.

Air-Out cold-aisle placement

For AO operation, the port side should face the cold aisle and the rear FRU side should exhaust toward the hot aisle. Every fan and DC power module must have the Air-Out label. Installing an AI replacement module in this chassis creates an airflow mismatch and triggers a Junos alarm.

Resilient DC installation

Two hot-serviceable 1600 W DC PSMs are fitted. The documented rated plant is -48 to -60 VDC, within a -40 to -72 VDC operating range. Connect each supply to its own correctly protected feed and verify polarity, conductor size, terminal work and protective grounding. One connected source does not provide feed diversity.

Acceptance boundary

Check the AO model label, six AO fan modules and two AO DC PSMs at receiving. Complete the deployment bill with supported transceivers, breakout cables, licenses and timing accessories. Validate power failover, thermal alarms, port modes and the selected Junos OS Evolved software before handover.
