S1700-26R-2T Fast Ethernet Access with Gigabit Uplinks

S1700-26R-2T provides 24 10/100BASE-T downlink ports plus two 10/100/1000BASE-T copper uplink ports. The dedicated Gigabit pair is the key purchasing difference from S1700-24R and reduces the uplink bottleneck for a 24-endpoint Fast Ethernet access layer.

Published forwarding profile

Huawei specifies 8.8 Gbit/s switching capacity and 6.6 Mpps packet forwarding. These values are higher than the 24R figures because the two additional interfaces support Gigabit Ethernet, while the 24 client-facing ports remain Fast Ethernet.

Dual-uplink planning

Allocate the two Gigabit copper ports according to the physical design: one active upstream plus a service connection, or two independent upstream paths where the surrounding network design can prevent loops. The unmanaged device itself must not be assumed to provide managed link aggregation or loop policy.

Unmanaged operating boundary

This model is intended for simple fixed-port connectivity. Requirements for VLANs, authenticated access, configurable QoS, detailed telemetry, PoE or centrally managed redundancy call for a different managed switch. Preserve the complete -26R-2T suffix when sourcing a replacement.
