Huawei publishes 4.8 Gbit/s switching capacity and 3.6 Mpps packet forwarding for this exact model. Those figures align with a straightforward edge fan-out role for legacy 10/100 Mbit/s endpoints, not a managed aggregation or high-speed uplink platform.

Topology boundary

Because every port shares the same Fast Ethernet access class, reserve one copper interface for the upstream connection or select a model with dedicated Gigabit uplinks. Confirm that the resulting 100 Mbit/s uplink limit is acceptable for the combined traffic profile.

Operations boundary

This is an unmanaged switch. Do not plan VLAN configuration, spanning-tree policy, per-port monitoring, PoE control or software feature licensing around it. Where those controls are required, choose a managed S1700/S1730 variant and verify its exact suffix.
