FS-108F-POE Overview
Plan eight powered connections within 65 W
The FS-108F-POE order enables IEEE 802.3af/at power on all eight Gigabit copper ports. Its shared output ceiling is 65 W, so eight capable ports do not establish eight simultaneous full-power allocations. Add the requirements of the intended cameras, phones or access points and retain suitable margin. The distinct FS-108F-FPOE order has a 130 W budget; that larger limit must not be transferred to this model.
Separate uplinks, console and FortiLink roles
The front panel has eight copper data ports numbered 1–8 and two 1Gbps SFP connections numbered 9–10. The RJ45 console serves CLI management and is not an additional Ethernet access port. Fortinet’s quick-start guide identifies ports 7–10 for FortiLink connections; controller configuration and supported software determine their use. Select compatible Gigabit optics and the desired uplink arrangement for the actual installation.
Use the AC-powered chassis and mounting options
FS-108F-POE uses a built-in AC supply with a 100–240 V, 50–60 Hz input. This is different from the base FS-108F, whose port 8 can receive PoE power. The manufacturer describes the PoE unit as fanless and documents desktop placement or rack brackets. Check the delivered power lead, brackets, airflow clearance and grounding arrangement in the quotation; a manufacturer illustration does not prove the contents of an offered shipment.
