FG-400F-BDL-950-12 is a hardware bundle: one FortiGate 400F base appliance paired with code-950 Unified Threat Protection for twelve months. A service-only FC-10 renewal must not be substituted for this initial hardware order.

Verify the physical base model

Fortinet identifies FG-400F with eighteen GE RJ45 ports, eight GE SFP slots and eight 10GE SFP+ slots, NP7 and CP9 acceleration, and dual AC power supplies. The base model is distinct from FG-401F, which Fortinet lists with onboard SSD storage.

Create an interface allocation before optics are ordered

Map management, HA, copper access, GE fiber and 10GE uplinks to the published port groups. Record media type, distance, connector and peer for each fiber link because transceivers are not stated as part of this bundle line.

Separate power acceptance from entitlement activation

Confirm both power supplies, independent circuits where required, chassis serial and the final Fortinet account. Then attach the one-year UTP entitlement, preserve the contract ID and record start and expiry dates.

Close the first-year evidence loop

Acceptance should retain the port map, optics list, power test, firmware baseline, HA test, entitlement screenshot and update-connectivity result. A compatible renewal is a later order; this SKU does not provide perpetual UTP.
