FG-3801G Exact Hardware Variant

FG-3801G is a FortiGate 3800G Series physical next-generation firewall. Fortinet documents the family with four 400GE, six 200GE, eighteen 50GE and two 10GE interface positions, a 3RU form factor and four power-supply positions. The FG-3801G order must retain its exact storage and power suffixes because those differences change site acceptance.

storage-bearing appliance acceptance

FG-3801G is the storage-bearing member of the 3800G pair. Fortinet's product matrix distinguishes it with two 1.92 TB local drives. Record disk identity and health, define local log retention and alert thresholds, and still provide an external backup or analytics path appropriate to the security policy. Local disks do not remove the need for retention and recovery testing.

Variant-specific acceptance

Verify both local drives, RAID or FortiOS storage presentation, log rotation, time synchronization and export. Test a controlled disk alert and prove that security operations retain visibility while storage maintenance is performed.

Common high-speed interface plan

Map every QSFP-DD, QSFP56, SFP56 and 10GE connection to its optic or cable PID, peer port, lane mode, zone and redundancy role. Validate supported FortiOS, transceiver compatibility, airflow, rack loading, management access, HA synchronization and a documented rollback before carrying production traffic.
