FG-3800G-DC Exact Hardware Variant

FG-3800G-DC is a FortiGate 3800G Series physical next-generation firewall. Fortinet documents the family with four 400GE, six 200GE, eighteen 50GE and two 10GE interface positions, a 3RU form factor and four power-supply positions. The FG-3800G-DC order must retain its exact storage and power suffixes because those differences change site acceptance.

FG-3800G-DC preserves the base 3800G appliance identity while changing the site power requirement to DC. The receiving record must include feed voltage, polarity, protection, conductor sizing, grounding and labeled A/B distribution. Do not substitute the AC appliance's power checklist or infer local storage from another series member.

Variant-specific acceptance

With an authorized electrical procedure, validate each independent DC feed and alarm path, then test management recovery and HA behavior after a controlled single-feed loss. Keep power evidence separate from network throughput acceptance.

Common high-speed interface plan

Map every QSFP-DD, QSFP56, SFP56 and 10GE connection to its optic or cable PID, peer port, lane mode, zone and redundancy role. Validate supported FortiOS, transceiver compatibility, airflow, rack loading, management access, HA synchronization and a documented rollback before carrying production traffic.
