FC-10-GT71G-284-02-60 attaches five years of FortiCare Elite support to one eligible FortiGate 71G. The contracted tier provides 24x7 telephone/Web engagement, a 15-minute critical-response target, two-business-hour non-critical response, Elite Portal device monitoring and standard advanced-replacement RMA. Hardware and threat-protection services are separate.

Turn five years of monitoring into retained evidence

Establish an owner for portal health alerts, remediation recommendations and annual device reviews. Retain trend evidence for resource use, firmware posture, recurring incidents and support cases. Update named administrators and notification routes whenever staff or service providers change so monitoring remains actionable throughout the term.

Manage LTS and extended-support eligibility accurately

FortiCare Elite can provide an 18-month extension of engineering support for selected products on designated Long Term Support releases. That benefit is conditional, not a blanket extension for every FortiOS version or appliance. Track the FortiGate 71G's supported release path and official lifecycle notices, then document whether the deployed firmware and product actually qualify before relying on extended support.

Create lifecycle decision gates

Review platform headroom, firmware currency, vulnerability exposure, incident history and RMA events every year. At the midpoint, confirm that the five-year plan remains appropriate. Before the final year, select renewal, migration or replacement and allocate time for policy, certificate, VPN and logging transition rather than waiting for contract expiry.

Preserve replacement and entitlement continuity

For advanced replacement, maintain an accurate deployment address, receiving contact, encrypted configuration archive and restoration checklist. Track return obligations and transfer the service entitlement to the replacement asset.
