Five-Year Premium Support with Asset and Lifecycle Governance

FC-10-GT71G-247-02-60 attaches five years of FortiCare Premium support to one eligible FortiGate 71G. The service retains Premium's 24x7 telephone/Web access, one-hour critical-response target, next-business-day non-critical response and standard advanced-replacement RMA throughout the contracted term. The line contains no appliance and no FortiGuard protection bundle.

Maintain entitlement ownership for five years

Register the device under the correct end-customer account and keep the deployment address, receiving contact and named administrators current. Review portal access annually and whenever an integrator or employee changes. Long-term coverage can fail operationally if the serial remains associated with an obsolete account or replacement hardware is sent to an old location.

Align support with the FortiOS lifecycle

Create annual decision gates for firmware currency, vulnerability exposure, platform capacity and published lifecycle milestones. Preserve configuration and certificate backups before upgrades, retain support case outcomes, and identify the last practical migration window. Premium support is not an indefinite extension of hardware or firmware life, so replacement planning must start before the final contract year.

Govern advanced replacement across the term

Standard advanced replacement sends authorized replacement hardware before Fortinet receives the failed unit, subject to local availability and process terms. Track the return deadline, asset transfer, configuration restoration, service-entitlement transfer and secure handling of the failed appliance. Test the restoration package periodically instead of assuming a five-year-old backup will still deploy cleanly.

Reassess the service level each year

Measure critical incidents, case-response experience, RMA events and branch downtime. Compare the site's recovery objective with standard advanced replacement and assess optional Priority RMA where a shorter hardware-delivery commitment is required. A five-year purchase reduces renewals but should not freeze an inadequate recovery model.

Preserve the procurement boundary

Keep Premium support, FortiGuard security subscriptions and any cloud-management services as separate quoted lines with their own dates. Confirm one entitlement per registered device, including both members of an HA pair where applicable, and retain the full SKU, serial, country, activation date and co-term record for audit.
