The 301E record should contain retention limits, storage monitoring, central archive destination and the paired HA serial where applicable. Add the date of the last configuration restore test and the team that approves firmware changes. Those artifacts make the support relationship useful during an incident and distinguish this locally stored model from diskless 300E deployments.

For 301E, link the support contract to the mid-range consolidation plan. Confirm whether local storage is still needed, whether the paired node carries the same role and when policies will migrate. A precise decision record avoids extending support simply because the device remains visible in the asset register.

An annual support term keeps the platform decision flexible but creates a yearly renewal obligation. Align activation with existing coverage, assign a budget owner, preserve the current entitlement number and schedule a review before expiry.
