Target Workflow

The platform token 00307 identifies a storage-equipped E-series mid-range target. Map the source estate to the 301E interfaces, zones, HA peer, local-storage purpose, routes, objects, policies, VPNs and central export path.

Capture a local event baseline before import and export it with a checksum. Keep controller, server, user and management rules in separate review groups.

Compare local and central evidence while testing routing, NAT, VPNs and policy order. Do not reuse the diskless 300E acceptance record for this storage-equipped target.

On the 301E, divide converted rules into controller, server, user and management review sets and capture a local event window for each. Export that evidence before adjusting translated objects or policy order. Test routing and VPNs against both local and central records, then verify HA synchronization. The final workbook identifies the SSD evidence owner and cannot be substituted with the diskless 300E procedure.

Submission and Authorization

Before submission, identify source vendor and release, target FortiOS release, interfaces, zones, routing, NAT, VPNs, address objects, services and policy intent. Unsupported or ambiguous constructs require an explicit design decision; a syntactically converted file is not proof of functional equivalence.

The DD order form is fulfilled per service request. Preserve the authorized quote, target serial, source scope, submission date and completion record; it is not a recurring hardware-support entitlement.

Code 189 Scope

Fortinet maps service code 189 to FortiConverter Service. The deliverable translates a supported third-party firewall configuration or another FortiGate configuration into a FortiOS configuration file for the named target. The customer still owns discovery, design decisions, validation, deployment, rollback and post-cutover acceptance.
