The ordering token 00281 identifies a legacy FortiGate platform requiring quote confirmation. Preserve the exact token and require the authorized Fortinet quote plus installed serial to confirm the appliance before activation; do not guess from a reseller label.

For token 00281, the acceptance pack must include the manufacturer-authorized quote that maps the token to the installed model, plus a photograph or inventory record of the exact serial. Record interfaces, configuration backup, site address and recovery owner only after that match is confirmed. This conservative control prevents an attractive reseller description from becoming an unsupported platform fact and blocks RMA activation against the wrong legacy appliance.

Document the organization’s media-retention, destruction, legal-hold and chain-of-custody requirements before activation. Identify who authorizes nonreturn and how the failed asset is quarantined and disposed of. If faster replacement is also required, verify a separate eligible Priority RMA service rather than assuming Secure RMA changes delivery speed.

Before Activation

The DD suffix does not prove a contract duration. Preserve the authorized start and end dates, covered address, serial, FortiCare owner, service geography and any co-termination terms from the Fortinet quote. Confirm the prerequisite support contract before accepting this add-on.
