SLASR903-I= Metro IP Services Paper PAK
SLASR903-I= is the physical paper-PAK form of the Cisco ASR 903 Metro IP Services base license. Cisco's feature hierarchy states that Metro IP includes all Metro Services capabilities and adds routed functions. This SKU is not an ASR 9000 router and supplies no chassis, route processor, interface module or optics.
What the IP tier adds
Official Cisco matrices associate Metro IP Services with routing protocols including RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP and IS-IS, plus PIM multicast, BFD, Multi-VRF CE and supported IEEE 1588 ordinary/transparent-clock functions. MPLS VPN, MPLS-TE, pseudowires and VPLS belong to the higher Metro Aggregation tier and must not be promised by this license alone.
Paper-license migration boundary
Cisco ended sale of the physical PID on September 15, 2017 and identified L-SLASR903-I= as the electronic-delivery equivalent. Confirm the target ASR 903 serial, installed IOS XE release, current license level, Smart Licensing or legacy PAK workflow and entitlement-transfer status before ordering. An unused, valid activation entitlement is the deliverable.
Acceptance evidence
Retain the purchase record and activation confirmation, then verify the resulting feature level on the target router. Test required routing adjacencies, VRFs, BFD, multicast and timing behavior under the deployed release. Do not use a successful code delivery as proof that every listed feature is supported by the installed hardware and software combination.
