Correct 400G identity
N3K-C3432D-S is a Cisco Nexus 3432D-S with 32 fixed 400G QSFP-DD ports. It is not a 32-port 100G-only switch. Cisco documents backward compatibility of the QSFP-DD cages with QSFP56, QSFP28 and QSFP+ form factors, subject to supported optics and software.
Switching and hardware
Cisco specifies 25.6 Tbps switching capacity. The chassis uses dual-redundant power supplies and six hot-swappable fans arranged as 5+1 redundancy. It also provides two front 100/1000-Mbps SFP ports, one RS-232 console port, one RJ-45 and one SFP management port, and one USB port.
Optics and licensing boundary
The base chassis PID does not include or guarantee 400G optics, breakout assemblies, airflow direction or advanced feature licenses. Confirm the installed transceivers, minimum NX-OS release, power supplies, fan airflow and the required Essential license before procurement.
Lifecycle
Cisco lists September 1, 2025 as end of sale and August 31, 2030 as last date of support. The lifecycle notice points to Nexus 9300 and Cisco 8101-32FH-O migration options rather than declaring a like-for-like automatic replacement.
