ISR 4461 Security Bundle

ISR4461-SEC/K9 is an exact Cisco order with two onboard 10-Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, four onboard Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, three NIM slots and three service-module slots. Order boundary: SEC identifies the security technology-package order; APP, UC and PVDM voice resources are not implied.

Licensed performance boundary

1.5 Gbps default aggregate throughput, upgradeable to 3 Gbps with the documented performance license. Published aggregate throughput is a platform limit and does not guarantee every encryption, application, voice or service-module workload.

Exact acceptance evidence

Baseline encrypted throughput by tunnel class and packet size, then reconcile crypto eligibility, SEC entitlement, performance license and all six onboard interfaces. Clear-text forwarding alone does not validate this security order.

Migration work package

Export VPN, certificates, routing, NAT, zones, logging and three service-module dependencies. Validate each control on the published Catalyst C8300-2N2S-4T2X migration platform rather than assuming license portability.

Lifecycle record

Cisco lists the ISR 4461 generation as end of sale with last support on 31 October 2029. Verify serial-specific support and software eligibility; existing inventory does not extend the published date.

Receiving checklist

Record PID, serial, memory, flash, power supplies, onboard links, NIM/ISC/service modules, software release, performance license and every active entitlement. Save configuration and representative load tests with the asset record.
