C9120AXE-EWC-B is the B-domain version of Cisco's external-antenna Catalyst 9120AXE with an Embedded Wireless Controller image. The SKU is intended for indoor environments where antenna selection and placement must be engineered separately from the AP body.
Do not generalize the B suffix
Use Cisco's live compliance database to confirm B-domain authorization for the deployment country. Save the approval result with the design and receiving record. C9120AXE-EWC-D has a different regulatory identity and is not an interchangeable region code.
Controller design checkpoint
C9120AXE-EWC-x requires IOS XE 16.12.2 or later according to Cisco's EWC data sheet. Document which AP hosts EWC, the supported member AP inventory, intended software version, upgrade sequence and failure/rollback plan. The embedded role does not eliminate compatibility validation.
