What SUP2E contributes
Cisco documents two quad-core 2.13 GHz Xeon processors and 32 GB DDR3 on SUP2E. That increases control-plane resources relative to the 12 GB single-C1-N7010-B2S2 SUP2 bundle; it does not add a standby supervisor or define application throughput.
Single-supervisor failure decision
Record the SUP2E PID, revision, serial, memory, NX-OS and EPLD. If the site requires control-plane redundancy, source a compatible second SUP2E and test stateful failover; do not mix SUP1 with SUP2/SUP2E. Otherwise document recovery time and spare handling.
Fabric complete, system incomplete
Five FAB2 modules populate the available fabric positions and can operate concurrently. The bundle still leaves eight line-card slots and three PSU bays as design decisions. Validate every fabric serial, line-card family, PSU input/feed, cooling and rack clearance.
Lifecycle gate
Cisco stopped selling the Cisco ONE PID on 1 March 2021 and ended all support on 28 February 2026. Available inventory does not restore TAC, security remediation or software maintenance. Preserve a migration target and approved risk exception.
