Redundant control plane is the defining difference
Two SUP2 modules can operate active/standby, but the received system still needs both PIDs, serials, revisions and software states reconciled. Perform a controlled supervisor switchover and confirm line-card recovery. C1-N7010-B2S2 contains only one SUP2 and is not equivalent.
SUP2 generation limits
Cisco specifies a quad-core 2.13 GHz Xeon and 12 GB DDR3 for each SUP2. Do not apply SUP2E's 32 GB and dual-quad-core facts to this bundle. Verify NX-OS, EPLD, line-card and fabric compatibility before loading a saved configuration.
Complete the empty power and I/O design
The 21RU Nexus 7010 has eight I/O slots, five fabric slots and three PSU bays. This order fills the fabric set but defines no line cards, optics or power supplies. Calculate PSU/feed redundancy from the final population and inventory fans, rack hardware and airflow separately.
Unsupported order status
The Cisco ONE PID ended sale 1 March 2021, security support ended 29 February 2024 and final support ended 28 February 2026. Any continued deployment needs explicit risk ownership, recoverable software, spares and a migration plan.
