ASR-9006-DOOR is Cisco's documented six-slot ASR 9006 front door kit. Cisco's hardware guide identifies the plastic fan-tray door accessory and its metal mounting brackets, while the Cisco Refresh catalog describes the exact spare as a door with lock.

Compatibility is chassis-specific

This accessory is for the ASR 9006 physical enclosure. The ASR 9006 architecture has two RSP positions and four line-card positions, which is different from the ten-slot ASR 9010. ASR-9010-DOOR must not be substituted on the basis of a similar front-door appearance.

What the order does not contain

The door kit is not a router and contributes no packet forwarding, ports, software or licensing. It does not establish an ASR 9006 chassis, RSP, line card, power module, fan tray, air baffle or air filter. Quote those PIDs independently when a damaged system needs more than the external door assembly.

Receiving and installation checks

Confirm the label is ASR-9006-DOOR, inspect the lock and key operation, and verify the metal mounting hardware against Cisco's installation figure. Check hinge and latch alignment before closing the door; obstruction or a bent bracket can interfere with front access and fan-tray servicing.

Airflow and maintenance boundary

The door should be fitted without blocking the ASR 9006 cooling path. After installation, confirm that both required fan trays operate normally and that service personnel can remove the door without disturbing cabling or rack hardware. A door replacement does not correct a clogged filter or failed fan.
