ASA5585S40-10K-K9 SSP-40 10K VPN Bundle

ASA5585S40-10K-K9 is Cisco's historical ASA 5585-X SSL/IPsec VPN Edition order built around SSP-40. Cisco lists 10,000 IPsec VPN peers, 10,000 Premium VPN peers, firewall services and 3DES/AES for the original bundle.

SSP-40 performance boundary

Cisco rates SSP-40 at up to 20 Gbps maximum stateful inspection, 10 Gbps multiprotocol inspection, 4 million concurrent firewall connections, 200,000 new connections per second and 3 Gbps maximum 3DES/AES IPsec VPN throughput. These are platform maxima, not a guarantee under every policy, packet size or software release.

Exact original hardware bundle

The exact end-of-sale description records SSP-40, six Gigabit Ethernet data interfaces, four 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, two management interfaces and one AC power supply. Confirm the received chassis, SSP, interface modules, PSU count and rail kit; do not import the two-AC BOM of the ASA5585S60-10K-K9 order.

10K is a legacy entitlement record

The model name records the original 10K SSL/Premium bundle. It does not prove that a resale serial currently carries transferable or usable Secure Client rights. Reconcile the serial number, ASA image, activation key, license output, support history and any migration to modern Cisco Secure Client licensing before accepting remote-access capacity.

Lifecycle risk is material

This AnyConnect hardware bundle ended sale on June 1, 2015. The underlying ASA 5585-X platform ended sale on June 1, 2018 and reached its last hardware support date on May 31, 2023. Treat it as legacy equipment requiring an isolated use case, spare plan, vulnerability review and migration decision.
