A99-48X10GE-1G-FC 48-Port Dual-Rate Line Card
A99-48X10GE-1G-FC is Cisco's ASR 9900 48-port dual-rate 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit Ethernet Flexible Consumption line card. It supports a mix of Cisco SFP and SFP+ interfaces; it is not a 100GE card, complete router, optics bundle or software subscription.
Capacity and commercial model
Cisco specifies 480G of physical port capacity with 400-Gbps line-rate throughput and 480:400 oversubscription. Under the Flexible Consumption Model this PID starts with 200G enabled, so acceptance must reconcile both installed hardware and licensed capacity rather than treating all ports as immediately usable at full aggregate rate.
Chassis and interface checks
The A99 PID is compatible with ASR 9922, 9912, 9910, 9906 and 9904 chassis. Confirm the target IOS XR release, fabric and route-processor generation, approved SFP/SFP+ optics, airflow and slot plan. Cisco documents LAN-mode Layer 2, Layer 3, IP/MPLS, L2VPN and L3VPN support, subject to software and feature licensing.
Lifecycle and migration
Cisco ended sale on June 15, 2024 and lists June 30, 2029 as the last hardware-support date. The lifecycle bulletin names A99-4HG-FLEX-FC, a fifth-generation 400GE Flexible Consumption combo line card, as the replacement. It is not a drop-in equivalence: port media, optics, capacity licensing and chassis compatibility must be redesigned before migration.
