SRX4100-JSB Base Entitlement

SRX4100-JSB identifies Junos Software Base for the SRX4100. Its documented Standard-tier scope covers routing, firewall, switching, NAT, VPN and MPLS. It must not be confused with `SRX4100-SYS-JB-AC` or `SRX4100-SYS-JB-DC`, which are separate orders combining hardware and Junos Base.

Use the exact platform and traffic profile when deciding whether this entitlement belongs on the intended gateway. Juniper publishes SRX4100 reference results of 40 Gbps large-packet firewall throughput, 22.5 Gbps firewall IMIX, 10 Gbps NGFW, 12.5/19 Gbps IPsec for IMIX/1400-byte traffic, 250,000 connections per second and 5 million sessions. Results depend on software release, enabled services and deployment conditions, so preserve measured packet size, encryption and policy assumptions.

Minimum implementation file

Record the appliance serial, Juniper account, Junos version and entitlement evidence. For the required base functions, document routing adjacency and failover, zone/policy behavior, NAT translation, VPN negotiation, logging and any MPLS or switching use. Include a controlled configuration backup and recovery test so the purchase is tied to an operable design rather than only a license record.

Feature-gap review

JSB does not mean that IPS, application security, URL filtering, antivirus, ATP Cloud or other advanced tiers are active. Compare the security policy against Juniper's separate Advanced, Premium, Data Protection and Edge Protection options. If a required command or service belongs to another tier, record the exact additional SKU and term instead of describing it as part of SRX4100-JSB.

Platform-specific renewal check

At renewal or hardware replacement, verify that the target remains an SRX4100 and that the planned Junos release supports the required functions. Reconcile serial and account changes, cluster membership, backup compatibility and support status. Do not apply an SRX4200-JSB record merely because the two gateways share a chassis family or base feature vocabulary.

What this line does not supply

The standalone software SKU includes no gateway chassis, AC/DC power hardware, fan trays, rack rails, optics, cables or support service. A complete deployment bill of materials must use the appropriate SRX4100 system order and separately verified accessories and subscriptions.
