A 32-socket 100GbE QFX5200 hardware identity

QFX5200-32C-AFO is the AIR OUT ordering form of Juniper’s 1U QFX5200-32C switch. The platform has 32 QSFP28 sockets that accept supported QSFP+ or QSFP28 transceivers. The default port mode is 100-Gigabit Ethernet. This is the 32C platform; do not substitute the 48Y port layout or the 32C-L operating-system variant in a quotation.

Treat breakout mode as a configured link choice

The QFX5200-32C hardware guide describes 40GbE to four 10GbE channels, 100GbE to two 50GbE channels, and 100GbE to four 25GbE channels. Automatic cable detection is documented from Junos OS 17.2R1. Validate the software release, configured port mode, qualified breakout cable and peer interface before ordering; a speed list does not guarantee that an arbitrary optic or cable works.

Match every cooling and power FRU to AFO

The AFO fan is QFX5200-32C-FANAFO with an AIR OUT label and Juniper Gold indicator. Air enters at the port side and exits at the fan and power-supply side. The 32C chassis uses five fan modules. Its matching AC power supply is JPSU-850W-AC-AFO, an 850 W unit. Require matching AIR OUT labels on all fans and supplies; mixing airflow directions is prohibited by the manufacturer. Ask for the installed module inventory and quote contents instead of assuming a particular offered unit contains every original component.

Plan redundancy and software entitlement separately

The documented platform design provides power redundancy when two matching supplies are installed; verify the supplied quantity and independent feed arrangement. QFX5200-32C uses Junos OS, while QFX5200-32C-L uses Junos OS Evolved. Hardware identity does not establish active base services, advanced feature licenses or support for a particular serial. The current datasheet lists QFX5200-32C-AFO2 as hardware only with software services sold separately. Keep that newer order code distinct from the legacy AFO code on this page and confirm the actual rights in the quotation.

Recognize SKU transformation without inventing an end-of-support date

Juniper lists QFX5200-32C-AFO in a SKU Transformation Announcement dated 20 January 2021, with a last-order date of 4 October 2021 for that order code. The same official page explains that SKU transformation does not mean the underlying products are end-of-sale or end-of-life. The legacy row records end of support as N/A, so it does not supply a dated support promise or an end-of-support date for this listing. Verify the current serial entitlement, release support and replacement requirements directly.
