CE5855-24T4S2Q-EI Compact 24-Port CE5800 Switch

CE5855-24T4S2Q-EI is Huawei's 24-port copper CE5855 model. It combines 24 10/100/1000BASE-T access interfaces with four 10GE SFP+ and two 40GE QSFP+ uplinks. The smaller access-port count suits racks where uplink capacity, space for cable management or lower server density is more important than 48 copper drops.

Port allocation

Assign the 24 RJ45 links to servers or network appliances, then document whether SFP+ and QSFP+ interfaces carry upstream, peer, breakout or stack traffic. Huawei notes that a 40GE QSFP+ interface in supported CE families can split into four 10GE interfaces; confirm this exact model's software and cable support in Info-Finder before enabling a split configuration.

Two-port stack option

Huawei's maintenance note states that both 40GE ports on CE5855-24T4S2Q-EI can be added to one stack port, unlike the 48T model. Treat that as a topology option requiring current version validation, correct QSFP+ media and a documented rollback plan rather than a default cabling assumption.

Component selection

Use Huawei Hardware Center to verify the compatible power, fan, transceiver and cable part numbers for the intended software release. Match airflow to the data-hall hot/cold aisle and confirm whether redundant power is required. Do not infer included modules from a complete-looking product image.

Acceptance

At receiving, match the full 24T4S2Q-EI model, inspect 24 RJ45, four SFP+ and two QSFP+ positions, then boot on the approved release and validate fan direction, PSU state, interface negotiation and the selected stack or uplink design.
