Huawei AR6300 3U Integrated Router Chassis

Choose the SRU before assigning routing capacity

The AR6300 order line identifies an integrated chassis rather than a specific service and router unit. Huawei lists SRU-100H, SRU-200H, SRU-400H and SRU-600H separately from the 02115640 chassis, and explicitly states that AR6300 system specifications depend on the SRU used. Two SRU positions therefore describe available chassis locations, not proof that two controllers are supplied. For a replacement or new installation, obtain the installed SRU part number and intended software release first. Port layout, memory and forwarding requirements must then be checked against that controller and its supported configuration.

Expansion begins with the default chassis layout

The manufacturer chassis description gives four SIC, two WSIC and four XSIC slots, alongside the two SRU and two power slots. Its detailed table lists ten service-board slots. These are physical expansion resources rather than ten included interface cards. The published maximum WSIC value must not be added to the default SIC and XSIC counts to promise a simultaneous layout. Prepare a card-by-card plan that accounts for physical slot combinations and controller support. Huawei marks PoE as unsupported for this chassis; do not treat an expansion slot as a promise of powered Ethernet access.

A 350 W supply has a separate card-power constraint

When an AR6300 uses a 350 W AC or 350 W DC power module, Huawei limits the total power of configured cards to 102 W, or advises contacting technical support for further guidance. The module rating is therefore not an unrestricted card budget. The chassis provides two power locations and describes 1+1 backup using two AC modules or two DC modules. Ask for the exact power-module codes and card-power calculation before ordering. Allow for depth, lateral cooling and altitude derating

The rack chassis occupies 3U. Its basic dimensions are 130.5 x 442.0 x 470.0 mm, while the maximum depth from the front-panel ports to the rear handle is 494.7 mm. Use the latter dimension when checking the cabinet and allow room for the actual cables and service access. Huawei specifies a pluggable fan module and left-to-right airflow. The long-term ambient range is 0°C to 45°C, but at 1800–5000 m the upper temperature limit falls by 1°C for each additional 220 m. Verify the site altitude and airflow path before relying on the base temperature range.
