SP-RACKTRAY-02 Overview
Use the compatibility row for the installed appliance
The July 29, 2025 V2 QuickStart Guide names SP-RACKTRAY-02 and gives the mounting method and supported-device count for each listed device group. For FortiGate 80F deployments, the FortiGate 80F/81F/-Bypass row specifies adapter-bracket mounting and two supported devices. The FortiGate 70D, 80D and 90D rows instead specify one device on the tray. Select the actual device and method; the tray is not a universal two-appliance shelf and the table does not establish compatibility for an unlisted FortiWiFi model.
Check bracket width and vertical clearance
The adapter bracket does not fit a device wider than 216 mm. Fortinet separately warns that G-series devices may make the assembled tray exceed 1U; their rubber feet must be removed before bracket mounting. The tray itself is listed as 44 mm high, 480 mm wide and 357 mm long. These tray dimensions do not guarantee the height of the mounted appliance. Plan rack clearance using the device-specific installation guidance.
Describe the mounting kit on the quotation
The V2 package illustration shows the tray, two adapter brackets, grounding wires, cable ties and several screw types. Use this as a manufacturer document reference and confirm the kit revision and actual included parts with the quote. It is not proof that a supplied older kit contains the same components or supports every device added to the current V2 list. The official tray drawing is an illustration from that guide, not a photograph of the offered unit.
Prepare the installation around the selected method
The manufacturer calls for powering off and disconnecting the device before mounting. Its bracket procedure includes grounding and notes that the device Kensington security slot is unavailable once installed in the adapter bracket. Use the corresponding tray or bracket procedure and the proper fasteners; the mounting accessory does not supply an appliance, network capability, a power supply or software licenses.
